Welcome

I'm glad you're here. You may be asking, how the name creature comforts therapy came about? Therapy is often viewed as something that only certain privileged individuals can access or in other words a "creature comfort" only offered to a select few who have the financial means, time, and social network to work with someone that they feel connected to. My hope is to offer therapy in a more integrative way so that it is accessible and helpful to a wider audience. Everyone should have access to creature comforts.

Creature Comforts Therapy

Creature Comforts Therapy is a private practice for psychotherapy that understands the importance of the intersection of animals in our wellness. As a therapist, I have noticed that our society compartmentalizes our physical health, from our mental, emotional, and spiritual well being; when in reality all of those areas of our lives are intertwined. Our animals (whether they are our pets, companions, service animals or community members), are part of our well being, and us theirs. I believe it's important to take all areas of our lives into consideration when understanding why we are not feeling our best.

I provide tele-health therapy, so that you can easily access care from the comfort of your own home. I welcome your pets joining tele-health sessions, and for those interested in the technique of the inclusion of animals, we can include your animal in your treatment plan. My dogs Blue and Lucy may join tele-health sessions from time to time as well. You can learn more about my practice here.

For those interested in the inclusion of equines in sessions, I have a lovely onsite location near Orinda that I offer in person sessions with Tintin.

I realize that the inclusion of animals into psychotherapy practices is not for everyone, and thus I also offer therapy that does not include animals if that is your preference.
